A quick look at my web development work for uthealthaustin, 2021.
UTHealthAustin is part of the Dell Medical School in Austin Texas. I helped a UT team member build out the Craft templates for this site in 2021. This site is built with Craft CMS, Bootstrap, Font Awesome and Javascript + JQuery on the front end. It is fully WCAG 2 compliant. My partner on this website was a very competent designer who simply did not know how to code everything correctly. I built the parts he needed to get the job done and taught him a lot about coding in the process. We got the site almost to completion working together but he added the finishing details, images and actual content. This was a pretty quick build. I spent about 4 months on this site and then my partner pulled it all together and got all the working parts online. I had never worked with Craft CMS before. I like it, very easy to work with and no unpredictable issues.

One of my first main tasks was to get a version of mega-menu working nicely. Admittedly, this is not a straight up version of mega-menu.. I made quite a few optimizations to it to make it behave and look exactly as we wanted it to look.

This website is fully WCAG 2/ADA compliant. As is my normal routine, I added a pretty skip to main content keyboard tabbing link for blind and visually impaired users. I also used a lot of indexing for the keyboard tabbing to make absolutely sure that screen readers would speak the website text coherently and in the correct order to the end client.

The mobile view on the front page folds really nice.

We started out with very basic bootstrap templates for a real clean look, and then added the header, menu and page blocks. We went through a few iterations before calling this a success. The screenshot below is of the Clinics page in progress.

Likewise the blog page went through a few different variations before we called this finished. The screenshot below is the main blog landing page about halfway to completion. We went through this process for all of the Craft CMS page templates.
